Built for the street, not the scoreboard
JKD is not a sport with a ruleset. The training is about closing distance, dealing with someone who is not standing politely in front of you, and getting out. That focus is why it has been taught to law enforcement and military.
S.A.W. Systems
Sean developed his own approach to mixed martial arts fighting, known as S.A.W. Systems, drawing on three decades across kickboxing, PFS and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
It pairs with grappling
Striking without grappling is half an answer, and so is the reverse. Most students who come for JKD end up on the mat for jiu-jitsu too, and the two reinforce each other.

What families say
Rated 5.0 on Google
Fourteen reviews, every one of them five stars. Most of them mention the same two things: the coaching and the atmosphere.
★★★★★Excellent for introducing kids to jiu-jitsu. The coaches are skilled, knowledgeable and patient. Easy to reach for East County families, and the owners offer a free week trial.
★★★★★My son started a little over a year ago and loves it. Lots of parking, and everyone there makes you feel like family. Recommended for kids and adults of all ages.
★★★★★Orlando is patient but firm enough to keep the kids focused. He teaches real life lessons about bullying and how to defend yourself.
